By the time this is published we will be at Level 4 on the COVID-19 alert system.

Schools and non-essential businesses will be closed and people, other than those in essential services, will be instructed to stay at home.
This is a big step, but a necessary one to mitigate the risk to lives. Potentially tens of thousands of lives are at risk if we don’t act now.
We in National support the Government in taking this action.
It is important to note that essential services will remain open. That includes: supermarkets, banks, GPs, pharmacies, service stations, couriers and other important front-line service providers.

I want to reinforce messages about shopping responsibly.
Groceries and other essential items will be available today, tomorrow and in the days to come. There is no need to bulk-buy now. That simply puts unnecessary pressure on supermarket supply chains.

Have confidence that what you need will be there in time. We are a great food producing nation. Our food supply is not at risk.
Support for businesses and workers has been extended further this week. If you are concerned about your job and income, talk to your employer. If your job remains at risk, contact WINZ.
